“That’s Prudent Investment Management”

by admin on September 27, 2012

Scott Rothbort, President of Lakeview Asset Management, says the story of the 4th quarter will be “who missed the run.” Rothbort, who is also a Professor at the Stillman School of Business at Seton Hall University, tells Wall Street Week’s Jeff Salkin that investment managers will have to chase some stocks. He explains why he has been raising cash and trimming some favorite positions.

In Part Two of the video (below) Mr. Rothbort discusses the specialized restaurant and food industry portfolio that he publishes on Covestor.com, why “freshness” is key in restaurant IPOs, what stocks are “ripe” for investment, and why steakhouses are “rarely” good investments. He also gives his view of the impact of the election cycle and what could make the market “explode to the upside”
